Tennessee Announces Spring Game Date

The Tennessee Volunteers announced the date for their annual spring game.

The Tennessee Volunteers are one of the more interesting squads heading into the 2023 college football season. Most analysts have them hovering around the fringe of the 12-team College Football Playoff, a projection that could slightly fluctuate depending on the performance of quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Tennessee fans will first glimpse the 2024 squad on April 13 when they suit up for the annual orange and white spring game. The game will air on SEC Network+, and due to construction at Neyland Stadium, capacity is set at 10,000. It'll be the second consecutive spring game that fans will get to watch a new starting quarterback take the reigns.

Last spring, the questions centered around quarterback Joe Milton III and how he would perform. Now, eyes shift to Iamaleava while monitoring how the defense and surrounding offensive pieces perform as the Vols return significant contributors on both sides of the football. Edge rusher James Pearce Jr. is garnering early attention as a first-round prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, and Tennessee landed LSU offensive tackle Lance Heard and Notre Dame tight end Holden Staes in the transfer portal.
