Walter Nolen Commits To Ole Miss

Former Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen has committed to Ole Miss. The Tennessee Volunteers were initially thought to be involved in his second recruitment.
In this story:

Knoxville native Walter Nolen almost picked Tennessee out of high school but decided to commit to the Texas A&M Aggies. He was the highest-rated prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle and was a big in-state loss for the Vols. Fast-forward two years and Nolen found himself in the transfer portal, with Tennessee once again reaching out and recruiting him.

Though Tennessee was viewed as an early contender, the race for Nolen quickly boiled down to Ole Miss and Oregon. Nolen ended his second recruitment earlier in the week, committing to the Rebels and head coach Lane Kiffin. He joins two former Tennessee Volunteers who transferred there this offseason - Tyler Baron and Tamarion Mcdonald.

The offseason is almost underway for Tennessee football. The Vols have concluded the regular season and are now focusing on roster construction for the 2023 season. Volunteer Country has fans covered with all the latest portal entries and NFL Draft declarations. The portal window is from December 4 until January 2. If players don't transfer within that window, they must wait until May following spring practice to enter the transfer portal.
