Latest AP Poll: A Shakeup Toward The Top

The latest AP Poll has caused some major shakeups. College basketball underwent a hectic week, and the top 25 looks quite different.
In this story:

College basketball is beginning to heat up. This time of year is rich with upsets, surprises, heartbreak, and triumph, and we are just entering that point.

Seven ranked teams lost on Saturday, including the No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers. Purdue has been playing down to its competition recently, and they finally hit the breaking point against Indiana.

Five top-ten teams have lost since the last AP Poll came out. Many expected a significant shakeup toward the top of the polls, which proved true on Monday morning.

The Tennessee Volunteers come in at No. 6. They were college basketball's No. 2 team last week, the top SEC squad. However, a tough road loss to Florida and a bad shooting afternoon against Auburn stonewalled them this week.

The Volunteers have a light week upcoming. They travel to Vanderbilt on Wednesday in a rematch with the Commodores, who have done some impressive things under head coach Jerry Stackhouse. Then, they host the Missouri Tigers, who are a borderline top-25 team.
