2025 Four-Star DL Amare Adams Trims List, Tennessee Among Contenders
There are a lot of early priorities for Tennessee in the 2025 class. They already have four-star corner Shamar Arnoux (Alpharetta, Ga.) in the fold, but that's just the tipping point of their efforts. Four-star defensive lineman Amare Adams (Lake City, S.C.) is an early target for this coaching staff. They go Adams on campus twice earlier this summer within the span of three months.
The South Florence High School standout is one of the top defenders in the 2025 cycle. He measures 6-6 and 250 pounds, fitting the billing of a college interior defensive lineman. Major programs have noticed, and Adams cut his list down to seven schools on Tuesday after some early interest. He will focus on Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee moving forward. The in-state Gamecocks are big favorites for Adams, but there's still a ton of time in his recruitment.
The size is Adams's biggest draw at this point, but his foot speed is quite interesting. He moves his feet well laterally and breaks down in space. There's a high ceiling as a run defender on the interior, and as he continues to grow, it will be worthwhile to monitor his development as a pass rusher. He does a nice job of maintaining low pad leverage with his 6-6 frame, but he must develop a signature pass-rush move during his high school playing career. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner is involved early, as he usually is with these top underclassmen.
