Four-Star OT Bennett Warren Commits To Tennessee Over Michigan, Others
Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee wanted to take a big group of malleable prospects in the 2024 cycle, a collection of talent that could offset some of the pending departures. The Vols must replace several offensive line starters this season and could be in for even more losses after 2023, meaning that they had to retool on the recruiting trail.
Entering Monday, Tennessee had four offensive line commits in the 2024 class. They had talent, upside, and athleticism among the four, but they were still missing a plug-and-play tackle. The coaching staff believes that three-stars Gage Ginther and Jesse Perry could develop into feasible options down the road, but four-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren could walk into their building and compete early. Fortunately for Tennessee, that will be the case, as Warren committed to Tennessee over Michigan, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma on Monday morning.
The tide turned in this one after Warren's official visit. He hadn't gotten an in-person look at Knoxville, Tennessee, and it was easy to write them off as "just another school" ahead of his visit. However, that quickly shifted. Warren was enthralled with the atmosphere, culture, and staff that Tennessee fields. They rocketed to the top of his list and kept momentum heading into the decision. The Texas native stands 6-7.5 and 330 pounds, insane measurables for a rising high school senior.
