Braylon Harmon Commits To Tennessee

2024 wide receiver Braylon Harmon (Knoxville, Tenn.) committed to the Tennessee Volunteers as a preferred walk-on.
In this story:

Tennessee has gained a commitment today from preferred walk-on Braylon Harmon. Harmon is a 2024 Knoxville Catholic High School wide receiver and lethal return man. He measures around 5-9 and 180 pounds and is a former Wofford commit. He decommitted shortly after receiving his offer to Tennessee while on a visit for the UConn game.

The senior had 1,071 yards and nine touchdowns, all while catching the ball, but was also extremely dangerous on punt returns and kick returns, having two punt return touchdowns and 364 yards returning for Knoxville Catholic, averaging out to 20.2 yards per return. On kick returns, he had 719 yards, four touchdowns, and an average of 31.3 yards per return. He took the time to detail his commitment to Volunteer Country below. Read on.

When asked what made him want to commit to Tennessee, Harmon responded, “I love the culture there and how the program is thriving; I also see it as a challenge that will make me want to work harder than ever before!” Being a wide receiver, Braylon Harmon would be learning from wide-out coach Kelsey Pope. When asked about Kelsey Pope, the Knoxville Catholic product states, “I know he will push me to be the best player I can possibly be and make me a better man off the field.”

When making a tough decision, like which school you plan on playing football at, you’d need to factor in what makes each school unique and separates them from the rest of the pack. “They give me the best chance to succeed, and I love the coaching staff, especially Coach Ekeler,” Harmon mentioned. When asked what he loved about coach Ekeler, he responded, “I love his energy and his passion to coach; when you meet him, he asks how you are doing, and you have to say that you are amazing or great; those little aspects of him make me think of him as a great coach.” He also speaks of the commitment by saying, “It means a lot; I am just blessed to get this opportunity!” He also states, “It’s definitely a dream come true; ever since I was a freshman, I’ve always just prayed for a chance, and I finally have received the chance to play college football.”
