Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. needs no introduction for those actively following Tennessee recruiting. The No. 2 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports' Composite Rankings, sits atop the Vols' wishlist for various reasons. They continue operating atop his recruitment, which got a major update on Saturday.

Sanders reduced his list to six schools: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The three schools that continue fighting it out at the top are Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee, and all three will almost certainly receive an official visit this summer. Sanders plans to be in Knoxville, Tennessee, for an unofficial visit in March before eventually making an official trip to Rocky Top.

Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre plays a role in this battle. Clemson and Georgia don't have a quarterback committed in the 2025 cycle, and unless the Bulldogs can flip USC commit Julian Lewis, neither will sign a quarterback of MacIntyre's caliber. Sanders and MacIntyre developed friendships during recruiting trips to Alabama and Tennessee and have maintained that bond since. A summer decision seems likely for Sanders, so these upcoming trips hold much weight for both parties. Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee has successfully recruited national-level offensive linemen, and he's done a good job setting the table here.
