Devin Williams Plans Visit With Tennessee

2025 four-star corner Devin Williams has seen his recruitment blow up in recent months. He will visit the Tennessee Volunteers this week, and it will be his first look at Knoxville.

The metro-Atlanta area always produces top defensive backs. The trend has been going on for years, and there's no shortage in sight. There are various types of defensive backs, and the Vols are zeroing in on a few targets from that area,

2025 four-star corner Devin Williams hails from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. He already has 23 offers, including ones from Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M from the SEC, as well as future SEC member Texas. Georgia Tech is the only school in his home state that has offered him thus far. Tennessee was one of the earlier schools to offer Williams, doing so in December of 2022. Williams has only visited Florida State to this point.

Williams has track speed at cornerback. He qualified for Georgia 6A regionals as a freshman in both the 100-meter and 200-meter. The first play on his sophomore highlight reel shows the full package. Williams is difficult to beat down the field, he can recover with his speed if he does get beat, and he has the ball skills to finish the play.

His physicality allows him to come up and make thumping tackles, too. Williams does a good job of reading the quarterback's eyes, and if he makes an interception, he is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He dictates the play instead of letting the wide receiver dictate what he does. Tennessee has had multiple corners taken in the draft over the past few years, including Cameron Sutton, Rashaan Gaulden, and Alontae Taylor.
