George MacIntyre Remains High On Tennessee's Offensive System

2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre (Nashville, Tenn.) stopped by Neyland Stadium this weekend to get another look at the Tennessee Volunteers.
In this story:

George MacIntyre is the most talked about recruit in Tennessee circles, bar none. It's an impressive feat to achieve as a high school junior, and it should signify what caliber of prospect he is. The No. 14 prospect in the 247Sports' Composite Rankings stopped by Knoxville this weekend for the Texas A&M game and had a lot to say.

"Coach Heupel's system is one of the best in the country. They have one of the best fanbases paired with it being the in-state school." George MacIntyre to On3

While the offense only put up 13 points and sputtered throughout the afternoon, the visit was an overall success. The Vols' biggest question with head coach Josh Heupel has been the ability to field a supporting defense for his offensive system. They've done that this season, leading the team out to a 5-1 start. The passing offense has been the question mark while the run game and defense are carrying the load.

Plays are there to be made on offense, and you can see that even when they don't connect. From a competitor's mindset, it would make sense if MacIntyre believed that he is what is missing from the offense and that these woes would be fixed if he was under center. Tennessee's coaching staff seems to believe that as evidenced by their pursuit - MacIntyre is the No. 1 option on their board, and while an battle with Alabama is heating up, they made a statement to MacIntyre this weekend.
