Mason Goree Talks Early Relationship With The Vols

Mason Goree is the young brother of 2024 Tennessee Volunteers commit Marcus Goree. Mason spoke about his own relationship with the staff and their defensive scheme.
In this story:

Bradley Central, from Cleveland, Tennessee, already has plenty of talent. Someone from the Bradley Central Bears who recently gained a lot of traction is Mason Goree. Goree is a 5'11, 160-pound corner from the class of 2025. He is also the brother of current Tennessee commit Marcus Goree Jr. After winning the region championship against Bearden High School, he took the time to speak with Volunteer Country.

"I feel great, man, you know, region champs undefeated, no better feeling," the young corner stated after his big win over a talented Bearden high school team.

Goree then talks about his relationship with the Tennessee Volunteers by saying, "I say it's a great relationship that I've built with them through my brother since he's committed. I've been up there a few times. It's been kind of like family, but you know I still got my decisions open for any other schools."

When asked if his brother's commitment helped him grow a stronger relationship with Tennessee, the young prospect from Cleveland responded, "Yes sir, it did with like official visits I've gone on with them, so I see all and been with that coaching staff and team more and got more comfortable around there, and I've actually been up there a few times so I kind of know my way around there."

Tennessee, as a whole, has made a very impressive step forward inside the defensive back group. They even won games for the Volunteers earlier in the season. When asked what intrigues him about the defensive back group and staff, he responded, "I like it because they kind of run the same things we do, so it wouldn't be too hard to pick up on plays and communications, probably a few calls, but I like the way their defense is their defensive coach, and their defensive backs coach too." It is also worth noting that when he was asked to describe himself in one word, he responded, "Dog."

It will be important to pay attention to this recruitment moving forward. It will also be important to see how this recruitment plays out after his brother Marcus gets to campus. A lot of Tennessee fans and supporters should keep an eye out for Mason Goree.
