Roger Saleapaga Breaks Down His Official Visit
The Vols have been planning to reshape their tight end room since head coach Josh Heupel arrived in Knoxville, Tennessee. Their efforts started under previous tight ends coach Alex Golesh and have continued with the new head man in that room, Alec Abeln. They want big, athletic tight ends who can attack in-between the hash marks and want to take multiple per recruiting cycle.
Roger Saleapaga is a 6-4 and 220-pound tight end from the 2024 class at Orem High School in Orem, Utah. He has recently been on official visits to Tennessee, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, and Baylor, and Auburn is scheduled for this weekend, according to 247 Sports. After his visit to watch the Volunteers take on the Georgia Bulldogs, Saleapaga spoke with Volunteer Country.
Roger Saleapaga starts the conversation off by saying, "It was great! One of the best visits I've taken!" The 2024 prospect details the atmosphere, stating, "It was like no other! I've heard a lot of stories about Neyland Stadium, and it was way better in person. It was the loudest and most electrifying stadium I've been to!"
He also mentions his conversations with the coaching staff. "I spoke a lot with Alec Abeln, Coach [Joey] Halzle, and Coach [Josh] Heupel. It was nothing but great conversation! I loved sitting down with them and talking to them," the uncommitted visitor states. He follows up, saying, "The atmosphere and the fan base stands out the most and makes Tennessee unique."
The commits definitely made Saleapaga feel like a priority. He mentions, "I spoke to all of the commits, and they are good players but better people! It was all love from them, and they made me feel at home even more." "It was great! There's a reason why I took an official visit to Tennessee. Tennessee is VERY HIGH on my board," the talented senior states.
