The Justin Baker Timeline
Tennessee had a good day today as they landed another commitment in the class of 2025. Justin Baker is a running back from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. He currently ranks as a composite three-star, holds over 15 Division-1 offers, and is a powerful runner - he measures in at 5-10 and 205 pounds.
Baker released a top six that consisted of Tennessee, South Carolina, Michigan, Georgia, Ole Miss, and North Carolina State back on July 4th. He visited Tennessee three times and South Carolina once before his top schools were released before committing to Tennessee earlier today.
The junior running back has been a big part of the run game for Buford, a well-known force in Georgia. During his sophomore season, he was the backup running back to Alabama’s now-freshman running back, Justice Haynes. As the backup, Baker had 62 carries for 371 yards and three touchdowns, averaging around 5.9 yards per carry. It is also important to note that the talented Tennessee commit holds a 4.0 GPA inside the classroom. He was also labeled an “Adidas Freshman All-American during his freshman year.” As a junior, he is now the main guy for the Buford High School rushing attack, and that doesn’t look to change anytime soon as he has been dominant his whole high school career so far.
Baker is only the third Volunteer commit in the 2025 class. He joins Dylan Lewis and Shamar Arnoux, teammates at Milton High School in Georgia. It is also important to note that Lewis and Arnoux are corners at Milton, holding down the defensive back group with Tennessee target Tyler Redmond. With Tennessee building a Georgia high school pathway this early in the 2025 class, it is interesting to see where they go. It is safe to say that the Volunteers are off to a nice start in the 2025 class.
