Tyler Redmond Breaks Down His Tennessee Commitment And Pitch To Ethan Utley
While the Vols didn't get the on-field result they wanted against Georgia, it was a successful recruiting weekend that has paid dividends in the days since. Tennessee is surging for several critical prospects, and they added a 2025 commit on Sunday evening.
Three-star corner Tyler Redmond plays his high school football for Milton High in Alpharetta, Georgia. Redmond is teammates with current 2025 Tennessee corner commits Dylan Lewis and Shamar Arnoux. Shortly after his visit and commitment, Redmond took the time to break everything down with Volunteer Country.
“My visit was good despite the loss, good hospitality, and a good atmosphere for the most part,” the newly committed Volunteer said. "I knew I felt most comfortable there, and it started to feel like home, so I just knew where I wanted to go to school," Redmond confirmed.
Following that response, he was asked if the decision had been on his mind for some time or if it was more of a recent choice, and he responded, “It has been on my mind for a while; I just had to go through the process and visit to go through and dissect what I really wanted." As mentioned, he is a high school teammate of two Vol commits. That was a big draw for Redmond, who already feels comfortable with those two.
"I feel like playing with a DB that you already know is good for chemistry because on a defense, you have to communicate, and I'm already used to playing with them." The coaching staff ensures that each prospect gets their own attention and experience, which Redmond appreciated throughout his recruitment process. "The thing that intrigued me the most is how much they care about their players and their families and the way they coach; they are going to teach you what you did wrong and have you fix it."
Each commit usually has a player or a group of players they would like to bring with them or lure into committing to their school. In this case, Redmond has a specific recruit in mind: "Ethan Utley for sure; my message to him was let’s become teammates again because I already played with him in Little League, so why not do it again?" the 2025 commit stated.
