Where Will Marcus Goree Commit?

Defensive back Marcus Goree comes off the board today; where do things stand with Tennessee and Goree?
In this story:

Tennessee's 2024 recruiting class is beginning to come into shape. While the Volunteers only have three commits, it's becoming easier to discern the top targets on their recruiting board.

Defensive back Marcus Goree is one of their priorities. Goree is a Tennessee native that stands 6-0.5, 170 lbs. with impressive instincts. He has positional versatility and can play safety, corner, Rover, or STAR in college.

Goree has a top five of Tennessee, Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, and Michigan State. He will commit this evening at 7:30 PM ET on SuperMax100.com. Goree logged 54 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, and two interceptions for Bradley Central High School in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Many have had Goree as a Tennessee lean for months. Colorado has made some progress here, as head coach Deion Sanders got him in for an unofficial visit a few weeks ago, and Goree was impressed with Boulder.

However, the Volunteers have spent years building a relationship with Goree and his family. He praises the atmosphere each time he is in Knoxville, and he would be a natural fit in their defense.

Tennessee offers a unique opportunity to Goree; while they are a powerhouse program, the Volunteers have deficencies in their backend, enough so that an impactful freshman could see early playing time. While that defensive back may ultimately not be Goree, someone from this 2024 class must step up and make an impact in the secondary.
