No. 21 Longhorns Return Home for Midweek With Air Force
For the first time since the end of February the Texas Longhorns enter a game finding themselves riding a losing streak, having lost two straight and taking a series loss against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
It was a series the Longhorns will want to forget and move on from, as the team that showed up on Saturday and Sunday did not look like the one that reeled off a 16-game winning streak throughout almost the whole of March.
After putting up five runs on 10 hits in their 5-3 win to open the series, the Longhorns only tallied four runs on nine hits in games two and three combined as the offense went ice cold for the first time since Texas' loss to Cal State Fullerton.
Now, though, they return home for a mini four-game home stand and look to improve their impressive 17-2 record at Disch-Falk Field.
First up? A meeting with a familiar opponent, the Air Force Falcons.

A look at Air Force's season so far
It has been a rather up and down season so far for the Falcons, as they have traded wins and losses somewhat consistently through their first 29 games. However, they've struggled on the road to the tune of a 6-11 record, which could make life difficult against the Longhorns.
Air Force by the numbers
Record: 11-18
Runs scored: 189
Runs allowed: 241
Team Avg.: .282
Team ERA: 7.12
Air Force wins this game if...
Its offense can force the Longhorns starter out early and get Texas deep into its bullpen. The Longhorns have a short turnaround before their next series, with Kansas State coming to town on Thursday, and might not want to burn too many bullpen arms. If the Falcons can take advantage of that they could leave Austin with the upset win.
Texas wins this game if...
Much like Air Force, its offense can revert to the offense that was on a tear while winning 16 games in a row. Bad games happen, and the Longhorns now have a chance to return home where they've dominated and get back on track. If the offense once again starts clicking against a weaker pitching staff then the Longhorns should see themselves back in the win column.
