Longhorns Even Series Against Kansas With 6-2 Win: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (30-17, 10-9) are back in action once again on Saturday afternoon as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks (22-24, 7-12) looking to avoid a disastrous series loss on the road.
It was not a pretty series opener for the Longhorns on Friday night in what was a 10-4 loss to the Jayhawks. Everyone struggled for Texas but those struggles were even more evident for staff ace Lucas Gordon.
Gordon followed up his dominant outing against TCU that won him Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week with a dud against the Jayhawks. He lasted only 4.2 innings, giving up six runs on nine hits, his worst outing of the season so far.
As for the bats, well, they showed flashes early but couldn't string together hits to put a dent in a sizable lead with several deep fly balls that died at the warning track for loud outs.
Now, the Longhorns look to erase the memory of Friday's loss and attempt to even the series against the Jayhawks.
