Longhorns Fall to Sooners 6-4 in Series Sweep: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (27-14, 8-6) return to action after a 45-minute break following game two looking to avoid a series sweep against the Oklahoma Sooners (21-19, 6-8) in the series finale.
Longhorns pitching struggled mightily in the first half of the doubleheader, as starter Travis Sthele only lasted one inning. The second inning was disastrous for Texas as the Sooners plated five runs to take the commanding five-run lead.
They would plate three more runs in the third inning to make it 8-0 and seemingly put the game out of reach. There was a late rally for the Longhorns and they cut it to an 8-6 game on a two out, two-run home run from Dylan Campbell in the sixth.
Texas was unable to complete the rally, though, eventually dropping game two to the Sooners 9-6 and thus dropping the series. After entering the series atop the conference, the Longhorns have fallen into a tie for third and are at risk of dropping even further if they can't avoid the sweep.
