Bijan Robinson Heads to AFC in Todd McShay NFL Mock Draft
We still have several months to go this offseason before the start of both college football and the NFL. With that long gap comes several months of offseason content.
Some of that offseason content will be dozens upon dozens of mock drafts until the actual draft occurs in April. However, this could be the first year that a Texas Longhorn goes in the first round since 2015.
Running back Bijan Robinson is set to buck the recent line of thinking that you don't draft running backs in the first round, and for good reason.
In Todd McShay's latest mock draft, he has Robinson heading to Baltimore.
Rd. 1 No. 22 - Bijan Robinson - RB (Texas)
Robinson reminds me of Saquon Barkley. He forces missed tackles with ease (FBS-leading 91 in 2022), has burst through rushing lanes and can make plays in the pass game. If Lamar Jackson does indeed end up back in Baltimore, this would form a scary rushing unit for new offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
Robinson to Baltimore is a fit that has been mentioned in other mock drafts, and one that could make perfect sense for both parties. The Ravens averaged 160 yards per game on the ground, but if you take away Lamar Jackson's 764 yards that total drops to 115.1 yards per game.
Meanwhile, Robinson won the Doak Walker Award after rushing for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns.
If the Ravens want to reduce the wear and tear on Jackson, adding a reliable running back that can reduce his need to run would go a long way in doing so. Luckily for them, Robinson might just be the perfect fit.
