WATCH: Lee Corso Picks Longhorns Over Alabama on 'College GameDay'
ESPN's "College GameDay" was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the No. 11 Texas Longhorns' top-25 matchup against the No. 3 Crimson Tide, and with it brought its weekly traditions.
Ol' Crimson flew at Denny Chimes on Alabama's campus and Lee Corso made his 400th career headgear pick on "College GameDay." He put on Bevo's mascot head and did his patented wave to close the program before the Longhorns and Crimson Tide kick off at 6 p.m. CT Saturday on ESPN.
In 2022, Corso picked Alabama to beat Texas when the two squared off at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium when the Crimson Tide narrowly escaped Austin with a 20-19 win. That was also the last time he picked Alabama regardless of opponent, choosing the Tennessee Volunteers Oct. 15, 2022.
The first time he had to make a pick between the two programs was in the national championship after the 2009 season. Corso picked the Longhorns to come out on top, but the Crimson Tide prevailed 37-21 behind four rushing touchdowns — two from Mark Ingram and two from Trent Richardson.
When picking Alabama all-time, Corso is 27-9, but his record is 7-8 when picking against the Crimson Tide. On the other hand, Corso is 7-5 when picking Texas and 4-3 when selecting the Longhorns' opposition.
In 399 all-time headgear picks, Corse is 265-134 but has been on a hot streak since the national championship between LSU and Clemson. Since Jan. 13, 2020, Corso is 37-13 with separate winning streaks of 12 and 13 games, respectively.
Corso is 1-0 this season after putting on Rameses' head for the first time ever, picking North Carolina to beat South Carolina.
