Bijan to Atlanta? Falcons Betting Favorites to Draft Longhorns Star
With the week of the draft upon us the rumors of what teams like which prospects are only continuing to ramp up. Finding himself at the center of some of these rumors is star Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson, who is poised to hear his name called in the first round.
Robinson going in the first round is all but a foregone conclusion by now with the only question being just how high he goes. He's been linked to teams in the top 10 in some mocks, with others seeing him slide into the back half of the first round.
Well, if betting odds are to be believed than as it stands Robinson will be making his way to the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 8 overall pick, as they have the highest odds to do so according to DraftKings at +200.
The allure of adding Robinson is definitely there for the Falcons, as the Doak Walker winner rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his final season with the Longhorns.
Of all the needs they may need to fill, though, running back likely isn't one of them. Last season saw rookie Tyler Allgeier lead the Falcons in rushing with 1,035 yards and finish second with three touchdowns.
Not only do the Falcons have a budding star in Allgeier, but they also have the dependable Cordarrelle Patterson - who has put together back-to-back career years on the ground for Atlanta the last two seasons, rushing for 1,313 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Simply put, the Falcons are a team that could be fun with Robinson but not a team that is likely to take him, especially not with a top 10 pick. Despite that, though, Robinson will almost assuredly be a first-round pick, with where he ends up one of the most intriguing storylines heading into the draft.
