Bijan Robinson to Cowboys? PFT's Mike Florio Makes Bold Prediction
With the NFL draft just one week away the discourse surrounding Texas Longhorns running back Bijan Robinson has seemingly been run into the ground. It is evident he'll be a first-round pick which then begs the question of how high in the draft he goes.
Robinson has been mocked to multiple teams, from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Buffalo Bills, and labeled a running back that can transform an offense. Another option, though, for the star running back could be staying in-state with the Dallas Cowboys.
However, there is a real possibility the Cowboys might have to trade up to land Robinson - something that they will have no issues doing. While there is plenty of discourse around the value of a running back in the first round, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio made it clear why Dallas should trade up for Robinson.
"If its a playoff contender that gets Bijan Robinson, we're going to look and say 'Holy crap that's a Super Bowl contender now'," Florio said in an interview with Dallas' 105.3 the Fan. "I think the Cowboys if they get him would fall in that category. It would be very fascinating to see how high the Cowboys would go and what they would give up to try and get him because to the extent they have urgency to try and win a Super Bowl, that's the one guy I can see making the biggest difference for them right away."
Despite already having Tony Pollard on their roster, there is a definite allure to adding Robinson. The Doak Walker winner rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in his final season as a Longhorn while adding 19 receptions for 314 yards and two touchdowns.
Adding Robinson to complement Pollard could elevate an already elite Cowboys offense that features Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Regardless of the "value" of a first-round running back, Robinson could be worth it if Dallas thinks he's the guy.
