WATCH: Longhorns F Timmy Allen Crosses 2,000-Point Mark vs. West Virginia
With a mid-range jumper in the first half of Saturday's Big 12 matchup against the West Virginia Mountaineers, Texas Longhorns forward Timmy Allen passes the 2,000-point mark for his collegiate career.
The bucket gave Allen career point No. 2,001, making him just one of 22 active D-I players to reach the milestone. He's averaged at least 12.1 points per game each season since his freshman season with the Utah Utes in the 2018-19 campaign.
Take a look:
After back-to-back seasons of averaging at least 17.2 points per game at Utah, Allen arrived to Austin via the transfer portal last offseason and has been a no-doubt leader since.
Last season, he led the Longhorns in per-game averages for points (12.1), rebounds (6.4) and steals (1.2).
Allen entered Saturday's contest having scored in double figures in three straight games, including 18 points and four rebounds in Monday's 88-80 loss to the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks.
As of the five-minute mark on Saturday, Allen had totaled eight points behind 4 of 4 on free throws, helping the Longhorns to an early double-digit lead over the Mountaineers.
