With a top 25 matchup between No. 3 Texas and No. 24 Kansas on Saturday, the two teams have made sure to be extremely cordial in the days prior to the game.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has already stressed how serious this game is, going as far as to say that Texas is treating it like a championship game. It is no longer the Jayhawks team that teams can stroll in and beat by 30 and enjoy a hot dog by halftime, as head coach Lance Leipold has not only revived it but made it nationally relevant.

The Kansas head coach was asked about Texas' signal caller and what he brings to the table, and Leipold took the time to express he believes that he will be highly coveted in the next NFL Draft.

"(Ewers) is an excellent quarterback, he’s going to be a high draft pick," Leipold said. "It’s the weapons as well, so disrupting, keeping him out of a rhythm, getting him in longer down and distance. That’s a huge challenge."

When talking about what makes Texas' offense so dangerous, Leipold explained that the Longhorns have an innate ability to get the ball to all of their playmakers.

"I think we’ve talked and we’ve gotten some recognition or compliments on the diversity of our offense and how we spread it around, well, they do it as good as anybody," Leipold said. "When you look at the people that get touches and how they do it and some of the stuff they’re doing off of it. Trying to keep them off rhythm is going to be very important. "

While the Longhorns are heavily favored, they are well aware of the difficulty that comes with beating an underdog Kansas team. Steve Sarkisian was on the wrong side of an upset in this very game just two seasons ago.
