The Bruins are moving on to the next stage in their pursuit of a top local pass-catcher.

Class of 2024 wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer revealed his top six semifinalists Sunday afternoon, and UCLA football made the cut. The Sierra Canyon (CA) prospect is also considering Washington, Cal, Stanford, Oklahoma and Michigan State.

Gilmer had also received offers from Arizona, Boston College, Colorado, Colorado State, Nevada, Northwestern, Notre Dame, San Jose State, Syracuse, UCF, UConn, UNLV, Utah and Washington State.

Colorado State became the first school to offer Gilmer last September, and San Jose State followed not long after, but the vast majority of his offers didn't come rolling in until January.

Gilmer has taken unofficial visits to Arizona State, Washington, USC, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Cal, among others. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect was on the sidelines for UCLA's game against Utah at the Rose Bowl on Oct. 8, and he stopped by Westwood for an unofficial visit two days later.

Across 13 games in his junior season, Gilmer reeled in 29 catches for 600 yards and eight touchdowns. Gilmer added 243 yards as a kick returner, plus seven extra points on seven attempts as a kicker.

Gilmer is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports and ESPN, while On3 and Rivals have him pegged as a four-star. In the 247Sports Composite, Gilmer is a four-star, and he is ranked as the No. 26 player in California, the No. 43 receiver in the country and the No. 290 overall prospect in his class.

Among receivers in California, Gilmer ranks No. 5, and No. 4 among those who remain uncommitted. The Bruins are also in the running for the No. 1 wideout in the state – four-star Millikan (CA) prospect Ryan Pellum, who has the blue and gold in his top 10.

Gilmer told 247Sports that while he does not have specific a commitment date in mind, he is planning to make his decision before the start of his senior year.

UCLA lost veterans Jake Bobo, Kazmeir Allen and Matt Sykes from its receiving corps this offseason, but it replaced them with Cal transfer J.Michael Sturdivant, USC transfer Kyle Ford, four-star recruit Jeremiah McClure and four-star recruit Grant Gray. Those players – plus class of 2022 signees Jadyn Marshall and Braden Pegan – all have multiple years of eligibility remaining, meaning they could still be around by the time 2024 rolls around.

However, Sturdivant, Ford, Kam Brown, Titus Mokiao-Atimalala and Logan Loya are all upperclassmen and will inevitably move on sooner rather than later. Six of the 46 players the Bruins' staff has offered in the class of 2024 are pure wide receivers, plus two more athletes who have plenty of experience at the position.

UCLA's 2024 recruiting class is currently made up of four-star defensive back Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins, three-star offensive tackle Mark Schroller and three-star offensive tackle Joshua Glanz. The Bruins' three-man class ranks No. 52 in the country and No. 4 in the Pac-12.
