The UCLA Bruins haven't had the best recruiting classes in 2024, but they're making the best of it. They are currently ranked 57th overall in recruiting rankings in the nation, and even though it's well below where they would like to be, they still have some talent.

One of their top prospects for that class won't need to travel too far, three-star offensive tackle Mark Schroller. Schroller is 6'6" and weighs in at 270 pounds prior to his senior season. He will be making his way to Westwood from Mission Viejo, and although he's 57 miles away, it's been like his second home since he was a child.

His father played for the football program back in his day, which played a huge factor when choosing a school, as he told national recruiting director Adam Gorney.

“Growing up, my parents went there, my dad played offensive tackle there and he switched to guard later but I had connections there,” Schroller said. “I’ve loved it since I was growing up. The reason I got into football was because I had gone to those games.

“It’s always been my life goal to go play on full scholarship there. I was stoked. I couldn’t believe it. All my hard work had finally paid off.”

Schroller verbally committed to UCLA in the spring, and there should be no doubt he will end up in Westwood by the time he signs his letter of intent.

The incoming senior can't get enough of his future school, and even though he spent more time at football games than the campus, he's had great experiences in his limited time in Westwood.

“It’s always been a great experience going up to the Rose Bowl with the atmosphere,” Schroller said.

“I’ve always loved it, the area, the weather. I hadn’t really been to UCLA as much as the Rose Bowl because all the games are played up there but when I went to campus, it was beautiful, I loved it, it was the right pick for me.”

We can't wait to see Schroller do his thing for the Bruins next season and wish him the best in his senior season.
