After another poor effort by your UCLA Bruins football team Saturday, the season seems all but lost. UCLA dropped their second straight game, this time a 17-7 defeat at home to the 3-7 Arizona State Sun Devils.

It was a bitter loss for the Bruins and a reminder of the wasted opportunities this season. The Bruins won’t do any damage in the Pac-12, and their record fell to 6-4 on the year.

UCLA is 3-4 in the Pac-12 conference this season, a far cry from their success last year. After a promising start, the Bruins have taken a major step back recently, in part due to injuries. But the fact remains that they didn’t get the job done.

Eric Sondheimer of The Los Angeles Times believes that this latest failure could spell the end of Chip Kelly's tenure with the Bruins and that a move is coming down the line soon.

If UCLA does let Kelly go, the Bruins would become one of the more attractive destinations for coaches. The program will be heading to the Big 10 next season, and the Bruins can give recruits the best of both geographic worlds.

They can offer potential players the chance to play in some of the biggest games, against some of the biggest powerhouse schools in the country, all while residing in sunny Southern California. It's an advantage that UCLA will look to use going forward, and prospect coaches will surely want to take the job.

Kelly has underachieved during his time with UCLA, and the writing may be on the wall. Another frustrating season for this program, and they likely don't want to head into the Big 10 with a coach on the hot seat. So, we could see this all play out this summer, with UCLA looking for a new person to lead the team
