UCLA Women's Basketball: Forward Interviews Ex-Teammate After Exhibition Blowout

A bond remains no matter what!

Your UCLA women's basketball team had quite the active 2022-2023 season and even though they had a lot of momentum heading into the March Madness Tournament, they were not able to go the full mile as they fell to South Carolina after some hard-fought wins.

However, we know that the Bruins have been building a successful culture over the past couple of years and the returning players have a taste of what its like to reach the Sweet 16 and should only want to improve from here on out.

The road to a potential national championship starts now as UCLA is in the middle of a summer tour in Senegal, their first trip of such as a team since the 2016 season, and have already started some early competition.

One game in particular that stood out to the college basketball world was their 103-point win over TS Jahn Munchen. Gabriela Jaquez, forward, was able to pour in 27 points and actually outscored the opposing team by herself as Munchen only recorded 23 points as a group.

The international squad was missing a number of their own top contributors but the Bruins approached this game like any other one and want to get accustomed to playing with one another as much as possible.

Emily Bessoir, forward for UCLA, actually used to play for Munchen and decided to interview one of her old teammates after the game.

Emma asked her former teammate what it was like playing against the Bruins.

"I think it was a great opportunity and a great experience," she said. "We knew that we wouldn't have a big chance but everybody had a lot of fun and seeing our players like Em who played here and playing against a top-10 team in the US is somewhere we all want to be."
