The entire basketball world will be watching how Bronny James performs this upcoming season at USC. The son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will be entering his first season with the Trojans and then likely will head to the NBA after.

The senior James hasn’t been shy about his want to play alongside his son in the NBA so many around the industry believe that he will opt out of his current deal with the Lakers and join whatever team that drafts his son.

Bronny is being projected to be selected in the late first round or even early second round right now but that could all change depending how he performs in college. He is regarded as a decent prospect and could carve out a nice NBA career for himself. It also probably doesn’t hurt that his dad is a NBA legend so he could always help him along the way.

Bronny is known as a strong duo type of guard that plays strong defense. During his final year of high school at Sierra Canyon, he averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game. His potential is there and that was a big reason as to why the Trojans recruited and ultimately convinced him to join their team.

In a recent 2024 mock draft, Bronny was projected to be taken by the Miami Heat in the first round. This would be an interesting location as LeBron has already played with the Heat and could find his way back for the last year or so of his career.

With teams knowing that they may have a chance to bring LeBron James to town if they take his son, you have to wonder just how high or how quickly Bronny will be taken. The elder James is still playing towards the top of his game so even in a year from now, that isn’t likely to change much.
