USC football: Marcelles Williams, 4-star cornerback, commits to Trojans
Four-star St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) cornerback Marcelles Williams committed to USC on Sunday. He made the announcement on social media.
Williams, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 185 pounds, is the No. 73 ranked prospect nationally in the 2024 class, per 247Sports.com. He's the No. 9 rated cornerback.
Williams officially visited USC over the weekend. He chose the Trojans over Oklahoma and a number of other programs.
Williams is the eleventh player to commit to USC this cycle.
WHO'S COMMITTED TO USC IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS?
USC hosted 12 official visitors two weeks ago and the Trojans staff has landed seven commitments from that group so far.
Three-star Cherry Creek (Englewood, Colo.) offensive lineman Hayden Treter was the first player who visited to give a verbal to the Trojans. He announced his decision on June 4. Later that day, four-star Clearwater (Fla.) safety Jarvis Boatwright also picked USC.
A day later, four-star Serra (Gardena, Calif.) cornerback Dakoda Fields and four-star Booker T. Washington (Atlanta) defensive end Kameryn Fountain committed, but USC still wasn't done. The Trojans secured a verbal pledge from four-star Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) offensive lineman Manasse Itete later that day too.
In the last ten days, four-star Cheshire Academy (Conn.) linebacker Elijah Newby and four-star Hiram (Ga.) tight end Walter Matthews both committed.
WHO ELSE IS IN USC'S 2024 CLASS?
Prior to June, USC had three committed players: four-star Lakeridge (Lake Oswego, Ore.) tight end Joey Olsen, three-star McKinney (Texas) running back Bryan Jackson and four-star Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan.
