USC football: Trojans receive commitment from 4-star safety prospect
The recruiting wins for USC keep on coming.
After receiving a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Hayden Treter on Sunday morning, the Trojans have added another 2024 recruit just hours later.
Clearwater (Fla.) safety Jarvis Boatwright has committed to USC, he announced on social media.
Boatwright is a four-star prospect, per the 247Sports.com composite. He's the No. 39 ranked safety. Like Treter, Boatwright was one of USC's 12 official visitors this weekend.
Boatwright, who stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 170 pounds, chose USC over his other finalists Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida State.
He's USC's fifth 2024 commit joining four-star Lakeridge (Lake Oswego, Ore.) tight end Joey Olsen, three-star McKinney (Texas) running back Bryan Jackson, four-star Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) wide receiver Xavier Jordan and Treter, a tackle prospect from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado.
USC is expected to take two safety prospects in the 2024 cycle. Two weeks ago, four-star Judson (Converse, Texas) safety Myles Davis took an official visit to USC and told 247Sports.com's Steve Wiltfong after the trip: “USC is in serious consideration for being my home."
The Trojans have offered a number of other safety prospects in the 2024 class, but with one of the two slots now filled, another safety addition could come sooner than later.
