Wahoos Weekly: Previewing the Week Ahead in Virginia Athletics [5/8-5/14]

See the full schedule of Virginia Cavaliers sporting events for the week of May 8th-14th and a preview of the week ahead in UVA athletics. This week, 10 Virginia sports teams will be in action for a total of 12 UVA sporting events. 

The Virginia women's golf team begins play at the NCAA Westfield Regional on Monday. The Cavaliers will compete against 11 other teams at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana from Monday through Wednesday. 

After having the week off for final exams, No. 21 UVA baseball looks to get the season back on track with its four final home games of the regular season this week. Virginia hosts Radford on Wednesday to wrap up non-conference play and then welcomes Louisville to Disharoon Park this weekend for the final ACC home series of the season. 

Virginia softball opens play at the 2023 ACC Championships on Wednesday, with the No. 8 seed Cavaliers taking on No. 9 seed Syracuse on Wednesday at 1pm in South Bend. The winner of that game will take on No. 1 Florida State in the quarterfinals on Thursday morning. 

The Virginia track & field teams will compete in the 2023 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by NC State from Thursday through Saturday in Raleigh. 

The UVA rowing team will race in the 2023 ACC Rowing Championships on Friday and Saturday morning on Lake Wheeler in Raleigh. The Cavaliers are looking to win their 13th-consecutive ACC title and their 21st in the last 22 seasons. 

Virginia women's lacrosse earned a bid to the NCAA Championship for the 27th-consecutive season and will face Albany in the first round on Friday night in Denver. The winner of that game will face the winner of No. 5 seed Denver and USC on Sunday afternoon in the second round. 

Virginia men's lacrosse earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Championship and will host Richmond in the first round on Saturday at 12pm at Klockner Stadium. 

No. 5 seed Virginia men's tennis continues its journey to defend its national title this weekend, hosting No. 12 seed Duke in the Super Regional Round of 16 on Saturday at 1pm at the Virginia Tennis Facility at Boar's Head. 

The No. 11 seed UVA women's tennis team plays at No. 5 Michigan in the Super Regional Round of 16 on Saturday at 1pm in Ann Arbor.
