With the start of a new college basketball season right around the corner, Virginia turned its focus back to the recruiting trail for a moment and extended scholarship offers to two new prospects in the recruiting class of 2025 this week. Four-star point guard Jalen Reece picked up an offer from the Cavaliers on Thursday and four-star power forward Cam Ward received an offer from UVA on Friday.Β

A 5'10" point guard from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Florida, Reece is a consensus four-star prospect across each of the major recruiting services. The 247Sports Composite rates Reece as the No. 82 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 11 point guard in the country, and the No. 10 recruit in the state of Florida. Virginia joins a heated recruiting battle for Reece, who holds offers from Alabama, Illinois, Houston, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Louisville, Missouri, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Xavier, LSU, Providence, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, TCU and others. Reece is considered one of the top three-point shooters in his class.Β

Cam Ward, a 6'7" power forward from Largo High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is also a consensus four-star prospect in the class of 2025. The 247Sports Composite lists Ward as the No. 56 overall recruit in the country, the No. 13 power forward in the class of 2025, and the top-ranked player in the state of Maryland.Β

His offer list is similarly extensive, with UVA joining Maryland, Florida State,Β Notre Dame, Arkansas, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, Michigan State, Providence, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Villanova, West Virginia, and others.Β

Virginia has active offers out to 14 players in the recruiting class of 2025:
