Concession Food Item Of The Week: The North Side Twist
In researching this week's concession item, we realized that there was a little something missing from our repertoire: pretzels. With that in mind, the newest addition to our Hall of Fame is a real monster.
WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT?: The North Side Twist.
WHO HATH WROUGHT THIS MONSTROSITY?: Our friends at Wrigley Field (this is for all you Cubs fans out there).
WHAT COMPRISES SUCH A THING?: A 2-pound (yes 2-pound) soft pretzel, and a trio of sauces: chipotle honey mustard, beer cheddar cheese (yes, it needs beer because this pretzel wasn’t crazy enough), and CINNAMON FROSTING. It's a meal that becomes its own dessert. American innovation at its finest.
REALLY?: Yes, it weighs 2 pounds. By the way, did I mention that it’s served in a pizza box?
HOW MANY CALORIES WE TALKIN’?: 1,480.
BUT…: No! No un-American questions about why this is unhealthy.
OK, BUT HOW MUCH IS IT?: The North Side Twist is one of Wrigley pricier items, costing $15 dollars. But can you put a price on happiness?
LAST QUESTION. WILL A FINANCIAL POLICY BE NEEDED FOR THE PURCHASE?: No. But a life insurance policy may be a good safety net, just in case things don’t go as planned.
