UFC color commentator Joe Rogan believes he knows when Tony Ferguson's decline truly began.

Ferguson has blossomed into a fan favorite over the years. His exciting fighting style and unique personality have endeared him to MMA fans. With that said, "El Cucuy" has had a rough go at it over the past few years. He is currently on a six-fight losing skid, and hasn't won a pro MMA bout since 2019.

Joe Rogan recently took to "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast to share his belief that Tony Ferguson may very well be on his way out of the UFC if he loses to Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett at UFC 296 on December 16.

"It's a good fight for both guys 'cause like Paddy's the guy coming up and Tony's the legend," Rogan said. "So, it's a real crossroads fight, and for Tony, it may very well be his last fight in the UFC if he loses. That's fair to speculate. A lot of people have been calling for him to step down and to stop fighting."

Ferguson's dramatic slide down the UFC lightweight ladder has been gut-wrenching for many fans. Rogan has shared his theory on when the issues truly began for Ferguson.

"Well, it really started out with him hurting his knee," Rogan said. "Then, he came back after that, and beat Pettis, which was pretty extraordinary, but then when he had that Gaethje fight, the Gaethje fight was rough."

For those in need of a refresher, Ferguson was scheduled to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 back in 2018. "El Cucuy" ended up tearing his fibular collateral ligament after tripping over a cable on the set of UFC on FOX.

Ferguson bounced back with stoppage wins over Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone, but Rogan feels Ferguson just wasn't the same after the injury.
