John Gotti III Claims He's In Talks For Floyd Mayweather Rematch, Wants Suspension Reduced
Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III might be sharing the ring again in the future.
Fight fans won't soon forget the fracas that ensued after the Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III bout was stopped. Referee Kenny Bayless seemed peeved by the amount of holding and cursing between the combatants during their exhibition boxing match. After Bayless ended the fight, Gotti went after Mayweather and the two started swinging. This led to a huge brawl between both teams.
The bout was held inside the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida, and Gotti was suspended for six months by the Florida Athletic Commission for his role in the brawl.
Serving as a guest on MMAFighting's "The MMA Hour," Gotti revealed that talks are underway for a rematch with "Money" Mayweather.

"We're in talks right now, actually, to do something," Gotti said. "So, we'll see where it goes. From what I understood, after the fight, it was the most Googled thing in the whole world. Floyd's a businessman, Floyd wants to capitalize on that and he wants to make money. Listen, they wanna do it again I'll be here. I promise you this time I'm gonna come out guns blazing as soon as that bell rings. We're gonna fight now."
Gotti went on to say that the two are eyeing an October date. That could end up being a problem for Gotti, as he was suspended by the Florida Athletic Commission for six months. Gotti told Helwani he feels confident that his suspension won't be an issue when it comes to the Mayweather rematch.
"I'm confident it's gonna get reduced," Gotti said. "My team right now is on it to get that lifted."
Gotti said that a location for his rematch with Mayweather hasn't been determined. With that said, he noted that the two will likely not be returning to Florida for their second showdown.
