UFC 295: Daniel Cormier Reveals What Impresses Him Most About Alex Pereira
Ahead of UFC 295, Daniel Cormier has shared the one thing that impresses him the most about Alex Pereira.
This Saturday night (November 11), Pereira will share the Octagon with Jiri Prochazka to crown a new UFC light heavyweight champion. Once the fight begins, Jamahal Hill will have officially vacated the title. Hill will have to relinquish the championship after rupturing his Achilles.
UFC 295 BOLD PREDICTIONS & PREVIEW: PROCHAZKA VS. PEREIRA, PAVLOVICH VS. ASPINALL
When Pereira and Prochazka meet inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, it'll be Pereira's 11th pro MMA fight. Having already captured UFC middleweight gold and fighting for a championship in another weight class, Daniel Cormier is in awe.
During an interview with Damon Martin of MMAFighting, Cormier gushed over how quickly Alex Pereira has found success at the highest level in the UFC.
"I tip my hat to Alex Pereira more than most any fighter in the UFC because this guy has less than 10 fights now in his career, maybe 10 at the most," Cormier said. "He's been a UFC middleweight champion and now he's fighting for the light heavyweight championship. He has no experience, he does not know this game. He knows how to kickbox and he has parlayed that into three title fights already, three title fights in a number of years. He made his debut in New York City three years ago. So, three years later, now you're telling me this guy is now fighting for the championship a third time?"
