The 23-year-old has spent the entirety of his pro career with Bellator, and he carried a 7-0 record with six finishes into a featherweight matchup against Almeida in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
“Skywalker” entered the night with five wins via submission and was a significant favorite, but he struggled to get Almeida to the mat and appeared to have few answers for the Brazilian’s striking game.
It seemed clear that Brennan was headed towards a decision loss with time winding down in the final round of the featherweight contest, but the 23-year-old managed to steal a victory and preserve his unbeaten record when he landed a massive clinch knee that immediately sent Almeida to the canvas.

Brennan quickly landed a follow-up hammer fist to make sure his opponent was finished, but the referee was already sprinting over to end things with just over a minute remaining before the final bell.
The unbeaten featherweight had only collected one previous win via strikes in 2020, but his comeback victory at Bellator 298 was easily the most impressive highlight of his young career and will no doubt encourage plenty of new fans to take note of the next time he steps into the cage.
