However, an un-earthed heartwarming interview with Michael Schumacher and Jos Verstappen, where they were asked about their sons' potential as racers, briefly steals the spotlight.

The rediscovered footage of the two racing legends joking around about their sons' future in F1 is a nostalgic and touching reminder of the pair's bond and their shared love for the sport.

Jos Verstappen says in the footage:

“They are a similar age so, for sure, they will compete with each other.”

Michael Schumacher jokingly responded:

“It could be the first time we argue if our two are racing each other!”

Max Verstappen said to the camera:

“We used to go on holidays, when we were little, the two families. These memories will stay with us. Michael is a very proud dad, for sure.”

Tributes from others within the sport were given for Michael Schumacher. Lewis Hamilton, who shares the record number of championship wins with the F1 legend, said:

“I remember watching Michael and trying to imagine what it would be like to be there. Super talented, super driven.”

Mercedes CEO and team principal, Toto Wolff, said:

“The most famous sportsperson in the world, back in the day. Someone that I truly admire and respect.”

Recently retired driver Sebastian Vettel, who became Mick Schumacher's godfather, said:

“I do think he just had a natural gift. He was my hero. There was something extra that I haven’t seen in someone else.”
