F1 Fans Confused As Lando Norris Punches Fly in Post British GP Interview

An annoyed Lando Norris tried to have it his way when a fly tried to sit on his face.

McLaren team driver Lando Norris secured the podium during Sunday's British Grand Prix. A determined Norris has been turning out to be a serious threat to the top boys as the McLaren upgrades have seemed to pay off at the Silverstone track.

For a short moment, Norris led Sunday's race before being overtaken by Max Verstappen in his potent RB19. That was, in fact, the first time since 2012 a McLaren car led the race at Silverstone.

The race before, Austria, saw the British racing driver secure fourth place. Clearly, the upgrades on the MCL60 F1 car seem to be helping him greatly as Sunday's race saw him keep Hamilton at bay who secured P3, who almost lost out to Norris' teammate Oscar Piastri.

Funnily during the post-race interview, a determined and happy Norris appears to be talking to the press and fans as they chanted his name when a fly decided to annoy him. Between 0:52 and 0:57, Norris seems distracted at first as he dodges to avoid the fly. But eventually, taking the matter into his own hands, he punches the fly, making viewers of the video howl with laughter.

"Never change Lando, never change," one fan commented, while another added: "As soon as this happened I knew there would be clips of it on here."

A third also joked: "He was just trying to give the bug a fist bump."

Reflecting on the race, fans were also keen to praise the British driver after his triumphant race to the chequered flag.

"Proud of the fight he put up against Lewis," one said.

A second added: "He had a DAY. He was unhinged after that race."
