Mick Schumacher has teased his return to a full-time F1 seat after the Canadian Grand Prix, even going as far to say that he is ready to replace a driver mid-season.

The German driver lost his seat with Haas at the end of the 2022 season and was then replaced by Nico Hulkenberg. Since then, Schumacher signed with Mercedes as their reserve driver for 2023 but is keen to come back permanently in 2024.

Whilst speaking to RTL following the Canadian Grand Prix, Schumacher acknowledged the rumours of him replacing Logan Sargeant at Williams and even said he is prepared to replace a driver mid-season. He explained, as quoted by Sport.de:

"I'm always ready. Believe me I'm working very hard to hopefully be back in the car soon. We'll see each other very soon. It should be there again next year at the latest.

"I'm sure something will develop in the near future.

"I would do it [replacing a driver mid-season] but It's unlikely that something like that will happen. After all, there are also contracts that are usually kept. Basically, I think that every team is a good option."

Logan Sargeant joined Williams at the start of the year but is currently just one of two drivers who is yet to put any points on the board. The American driver is in contract with Williams until the end of the season.

Mercedes CEO and team principal Toto Wolff has championed Schumacher and has said that he is supporting the driver in his return to the grid.
