Aaron Rodgers is Back in Adidas Sneakers for Jets Game
The rapid injury recovery of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been a major storyline throughout the NFL season. Fans and media alike were caught off guard when the 40-year-old returned to the practice field earlier this week. It has been less than three full months after his seemingly season-ending surgery for a torn left Achilles tendon.
While everyone has speculated about Rodgers' potential comeback, our focus has remained on the footwear of the veteran quarterback. Rodgers has been an adidas athlete since signing with the Germand brand in 2015. However, his sneakers have told a different story at times throughout his recovery.
On Sunday morning, the Jets' social media team shared a video of Rodgers speed-walking into the team locker room. A quick glimpse showed him wearing the adidas Ultraboost Light (more on that below). This comes after Rodgers credited the footwear brand KEEN for its "Super Dad Shoes" during a nationally televised interview on ESPN.
But Rodgers is back to toeing the company line as he represented the three stripes with one of the brand's newer running shoes. Luckily for athletes and fans, the exact model and colorway are available at less than half of the original price in select sizes. Below is everything you must know about Rodgers' latest sneakers.
adidas Ultraboost Light
Rodgers wore the adidas Ultraboost Light in the "Core Black/Cloud White" colorway. The shoes had a retail price of $190 but are currently available for $76 in smaller sizes on the adidas website.
The adidas Ultraboost is the flagship running line for the brand and has aged like fine wine over the past decade. The fan-favorite BOOST cushioning technology was a game-changer upon its initial release and has been continuously tweaked for better performance.
The new model is the lightest Ultraboost ever. Its unique molecule design achieves the most lightweight BOOST foam to date. It is easy to understand why Rodgers would pick this shoe to wear when walking around a stadium or standing on the sidelines.
