Atlanta Influences Storm Reid's New Balance Sneakers

Storm Reid's signature New Balance sneakers are inspired by Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta, Georgia, has long been the headquarters of American music, culture, and art. One of the city's very own, Storm Reid, has become a household name in recent years through her television and movie roles.

Now the city that helped shape Reid has inspired her latest project. Earlier today, New Balance announced its collaboration with the Emmy-nominated, multi-talented actress and producer. Reid's first signature sneaker, the New Balance CT302, is scheduled to launch on August 4, 2023. 

The campaign draws inspiration from the dynamic city of Atlanta in the early 2000s, celebrating its cultural significance and Reid’s personal coming-of-age journey in the city. The 302 combines upper U’Lays and suede O’lays with a custom tongue label and lace aglets to create a one-of-a-kind shoe.

A New Balance brand ambassador since October 2021, this collaboration marks Reid’s first sneaker launch with the company. The teamwork between New Balance and Reid extends beyond footwear and further amplifies Reid’s influential voice within the industry as she ignites meaningful conversations around representation, self-expression, and empowerment.
