James Harden Trashes Daryl Morey During Adidas Tour
We love when NBA players go overseas to promote their sneaker brands. Loyal fans finally get an opportunity to see their favorite hoopers in person, while the signature athlete gets to enjoy a new culture on a working vacation.
Over the past week, James Harden has been treated like a conquering hero during his summer tour of China. Despite all the good vibes, Harden went after Philadelphia 76ers team president Daryl Morey while speaking at an adidas event on Monday.
Harden told fans, "Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again. Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of."
Fans in attendance cheered on Harden after his blistering critique of Morey. Harden asked if there were any questions with a smile (there were none). As for Morey and the 76ers, they have just over a month to resolve this issue before the start of the NBA training camp.
Harden's remarks came shortly after ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Philadelphia had ended trade talks on guard James Harden and planned to bring him back to training camp for the start of the season. In July, the disgruntled superstar opted into his $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 NBA season after requesting a trade the prior month.
For those wondering, Harden was wearing a crisp new pair of the adidas Harden Vol. 7 in the white and black 'Stormtrooper' colorway. Online shoppers can purchase the shoes for$160 on the adidas website. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your footwear coverage.
