The Adidas Trae Young 2.0 Finally Enjoys Spotlight

The adidas Trae Young 2.0 got its signature moment with Trae Young's game-winning shot.

Basketball fans must block off their schedule every night from April through the middle of June thanks to the NBA Playoffs. It is a big social sacrifice, but it inevitably pays off with the special moments that transpire during each game.

On Tuesday night, Trae Young led the Atlanta Hawks to victory over the Boston Celtics with a game-winning 30-feet three-pointer. It was another reminder that defenders must guard 'Ice Trae' as soon as he crosses halfcourt.

After a challenging season where Young lost family members and faced more scrutiny than ever before, it was cathartic to see the 24-year-old thriving on the world's biggest stage.

Even better for adidas, the highlight play went viral and introduced many casual sneakerheads to Young's second signature shoe. Below is everything fans need to know about the adidas Trae Young 2.0.

The adidas Trae Young 2.0 launched in November 2022 for $140. While Young's pair of pink and yellow shoes are not out yet, there are still several colorways available on the adidas website

After Young wore his first signature shoe from the 2021 NBA Playoffs throughout the following year's postseason, fans were starved to see the second installment of his signature line.

Unfortunately, the highly-anticipated release fell flat among sneakerheads and fans. The performance basketball shoe offered cutting-edge technology thanks to its combination of Lightstrike and BOOST cushioning.

The adaptive fit SCK360 knit upper is excellent for hooping but limits the creativity and story-telling ability of design teams. But then again, winning cures everything. The longer the Hawks can extend this series against Boston, the more time Young's shoes will get in the spotlight.
