The Reebok Shaq Attaq Returns in Miami Heat Colorway

Reebok is releasing Shaquille O'Neal's basketball shoes in Miami Heat colors.
In this story:

Many sports fans consider the 1990s as the golden era of sneakers and basketball. If that is the case, then Shaquille O'Neal is one of the most important figures of the decade.

Some of O'Neal's greatest highlights on the hardwood took place with Reebok sneakers on his size 22 feet. Fortunately for nostalgic fans, Reebok kept the Shaq signature line going strong after his professional career ended in 2011.

From 2004 to 2008, O'Neal spent three seasons playing for the Miami Heat, helping lead the team to its first-ever finals championship. Reebok’s latest take on Shaq Attaq, O'Neal’s first signature shoe, commemorates his time in the “305” and the team’s retro black, pink, and orange alternate uniforms.

The Reebok Shaq Attaq 'Miami Heat' colorway is releasing at midnight on May 12 for $180 in adult sizes on the Reebok website and at Foot Locker. Even better for online shoppers, other colorways of the iconic hoop shoe are already available on the brand's website.

First introduced in 1992, the Shaq Attaq combined new Shaq branding elements with Reebok technologies like a custom-fit Pump bladder and carbon fiber footplate showcasing the brand’s disruptive approach to performance footwear. Most importantly, the shoe provided Shaq with best-in-class comfort and stability on the court as he broke countless rims and records.

As always, Reebok nailed the details of the retro hoop shoe. The colorway features a white leather and synthetic upper, contrasted by black overlays. Bright orange and pink accents complete with the Heat-inspired look.

Unmistakable Reebok and Shaq branding appears on the side and heel of the shoe. Meanwhile, the classic Pump technology pops off the tongues. A rubber outsole with a visible Graphlite plate provides the foundation of the heavy-duty sneaker.

It has been just over 30 years since O'Neal debuted his first signature sneaker during his rookie season. The only thing that has aged better than his game was his quintessentially-90s footwear. Stick with FanNation Kicks for all your sneaker coverage.
