Explained: Why Arsenal Have Not Announced Declan Rice Signing Yet
West Ham United agreed a transfer fee and payment schedule with Arsenal for the sale of Declan Rice over a week ago.
The Gunners will pay the Hammers a guaranteed sum of £100 million, paid in three instalments over 24 months.
Arsenal could end up sending West Ham a further £5m in add-ons depending on how Rice performs at his new club.
It took weeks to reach this agreement. West Ham had previously rejected two bids from Arsenal, as well as one from Manchester City, before finally saying yes.
But now that West Ham have accepted Arsenal's offer, why are fans still waiting for Rice to be officially unveiled online?
Why Is It Taking So Long For Declan Rice Transfer To Be Announced?
According to Sky Sports, the delay is down to Arsenal, rather than West Ham.
The Hammers are reportedly still waiting for Arsenal's lawyers to give their final approval to how the deal is worded.
Once those lawyers are satisfied, contracts can be signed and Rice will become Arsenal's most expensive player ever.
Arsenal are said to be hopeful of completing the signing of Rice before Sunday when the first-team squad is set to fly to the United States for a pre-season tour.
