Northwest Rankin Cougars edge Clinton Arrows 35-34 in MS high school football game
Cougar Field - Northwest Rankin High School quarterback joseph phillipson picked up 133 passing yards and threw for 1 touchdown to help the Northwest Rankin Cougars to a 35-34 win over the Clinton Arrows on Friday night in a high school football game.
The Cougars also received impressive efforts from running back Tripp Weakley who rushed 15 times for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns and defensive back Mickell Smith III who completed 3 passes for 66 yards.
Clinton's quarterback Josef Walker threw for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns and wide receiver Jaden Johnson had 116 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
The win helps Northwest Rankin improve to 1-1 on the season while Clinton falls to 1-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
