Angels News: Shohei Ohtani Remains Out of Halos Lineup With Oblique Injury
Shohei Ohtani will not be suiting up for the Angels on Wednesday in the team's series finale against the Baltimore Orioles.
Ohtani, who missed the first two games of the series after suffering an oblique injury taking batting practice on Monday, was warming up on the field on Wednesday to see if he was good enough to play.
However, clearly the oblique is not yet fully there, as the Angels released Wednesday's lineup, and Ohtani is not in there.
Ohtani hurt himself on Monday, and was held out of the lineup on Monday and Tuesday. Now, it'll be a full three-game series missed with this oblique injury.
Ohtani is as tough as they come, and the fact that he was even trying to play through an oblique injury and a torn UCL despite the team being out of postseason contention is pretty insane. But Ohtani is a competitor, and he wants to be out there for the Halos and their fans as long as he feels good enough to play.
Unfortunately, that day is not Wednesday, but Ohtani's designation is "day to day" according to manager Phil Nevin, so we'll see if he gets back on the field soon for the Halos.
