Angels News: Watch Jo Adell Crank a Home Run in His First At-Bat of the Spring
Angels fans. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. In his first at-bat of spring training, Angels young outfielder Jo Adell just went deep.
In the top of the 2nd inning, Adell got a 3-1 pitch over the middle of the plate, and didn't miss it. He crushed a home run to deep left field, starting spring training off with a bang.
Adell has found his name in the headlines all offseason long. His manager, Phil Nevin, has been a huge supporter of him, consistently praising his work ethic and talent (even comparing it to that of Mike Trout). However, he hasn't been able to figure it out at the big league level just yet.
This year, though, Adell showed up to camp looking like a "beast," according to Nevin, and ready to help this team win games.
He has an outside chance of starting the season on the Opening Day roster, as the team already has four outfielders in those slots. However, if he continues to play like this, the Angels may have no choice but to put him on.
