Angels Notes: Phil Nevin Wanted to See History, Mike Trout Nears Return, Manager Talks Inconsistency and More
The Angels had an off day yesterday, but there's still plenty of Halos news to start your Friday!
Reid Detmers had the best outing of his season on Wednesday when he threw 7 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball before giving up an 8th inning double. Detmers' high pitch count looked to be a concern, but Angels manager Phil Nevin made it clear he was going to ride the lefty as long as he had a chance at history.
Also, centerfielder Mike Trout continues to make progress as looks to return from a broken hamate bone, and it seems as if he's getting closer and closer to that return. Additionally, Nevin spoke about the inconsistency that's plagued the Halos this year as they try to dig out of a seven-game deficit to get into playoff position. You can read all of that and so much more below!
